The allotment site is on privately owned land, rented by the Allotment Association. Access is via a public right of way, alongside Wolfreton Villas, Wolfreton Road, Anlaby. The site is managed and maintained by an elected committee. The Association is entirely self supporting, with income coming from rents charged to plot holders and incidental sales of garden sundries to members from the cabin. The Association is a not-for-profit organisation for the benefit of members and the local community and not for individual gain.
The ethos of the Association is to provide recreational gardening for local residents and to preserve the site as allotment gardens for current and future generations. We fully support ‘organic gardening’ and do not encourage the use of herbicides and pesticides. We also respect various forms of wildlife and the surrounding habitat that exists in the area.
